Health & Wellness

Sector Coverage

The Health and Wellness (H&W) sector of this LTSPFBA encompasses: Medical products, appliances, and equipment; Outpatient services; Hospital services; and Public health services. These elements cover the range of goods, services, and activities that are associated with the production of high-quality healthcare. The operative term here is “production.” Therefore, it is important to consider the production of health outcomes in the US in its proper context.

The “lead” position for this sector is open.

Latest Developments

As noted above, a leadership opportunity is open for this sector. We invite interested persons with expertise in this sector to join the LTSPFBA implementation effort, and to consider contributing in a leadership capacity.

Please visit our CONTACT page to reach out to the LTSPFBA IT at your earliest convenience to discuss this opportunity.

Important Information

It is common knowledge that the current Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., has adopted “conservative” positions on several health related policies. Importantly, the LTSPFBA IT does not adhere to any particular policy. Rather, the IT seeks to present information and to execute strategies that can, potentially, provide the most favorable outcomes for Black Americans.

In this case, we provide a link (URL) to a video (podcast, “The Encounter”) by noted conservative pundit, Tucker Carlson, who interviews Mr. Calley Means concerning the weight loss drug OZEMPIC. Mr. Means bills himself as a healthcare advocate working to redirect healthcare spending to produce improved healthcare outcomes for the nation. We believe that it is worthy of your review. View it here. [Thanks to Baba Sababu Shabaka for submitting this informaton for presentation on the LTSFBA website.]
